Seggiano's Sicilian Artichoke Hearts are freshly picked artichokes from the Niscemi growing region of Sicily, lightly seasoned with herbs and preserved at harvest time in premium Sicilian extra virgin olive oil. Tender, delicate, and full of flavour, they carry the characteristic nutty, slightly sweet taste of good artichoke, gently lifted by garlic, mint, and chilli. Careful preparation preserves the texture, flavour, and natural goodness of this prized Mediterranean vegetable.
These artichokes are prepared by Frantoio Cutrera, the acclaimed Sicilian producer of the multiple award-winning Primo extra virgin olive oil, who seasons the fresh artichokes before preserving them under oil he mills himself. Seggiano, founded in 1985, works exclusively with small artisan producers like Cutrera, and crucially uses premium extra virgin olive oil rather than the cheap seed oils or virgin oils common elsewhere, ensuring exceptional quality throughout.
