Nairns Gluten Free Swiss Style Muesli is built on gluten free wholegrain oats, flaked and mixed with sultanas, raisins, sunflower seeds and toasted maize germ, then finished with a dusting of coconut milk powder. The result is a chewy, fruity bowl with a soft hint of coconut running through it.
Each batch starts with wholegrain oats kept apart from wheat, barley and rye through the whole process, then built up with sliced tiger nuts for a nutty crunch and toasted maize germ for a roasted edge. Sultanas and raisins, tossed lightly in sunflower oil, keep every spoonful soft and naturally sweet, while the coconut milk powder adds a faint tropical warmth without any dairy at all. It has real texture rather than a uniform crumb, with tiger nuts and maize flakes you can actually pick out, and it works equally well for anyone avoiding gluten or animal ingredients altogether.
Soak it overnight in milk or a plant alternative for a softer, porridge-like bowl, or pour it cold with yoghurt if you'd rather keep some bite in the oats and tiger nuts. Fresh berries or sliced banana sit nicely against the dried fruit, and a little honey or maple syrup brings out the toasted maize germ. It also spoons well over stewed fruit or layered through yoghurt for a quick breakfast pot.
Nairns has spent years working with oats, keeping its gluten free lines milled and handled separately from wheat so they genuinely suit coeliacs. That same care carries through into this muesli, which sticks to wholegrain oats and a short, recognisable list of additions rather than a long one.
